Dear all,
I'm excited to invite FSU Art Students to join me tomorrow for Zoom conversation with Tyler Calkin!

Over the course of the semester I'll be holding several of these conversations framed with a student audience in mind.
In addition to prepared questions from me, these artists will be expecting to answer questions from undergrad and grad students in our program.
It should serve as a great platform to discuss concepts and pragmatics alike, with a bizarre crop of practicing artists.

Tomorrow night, SEPTEMBER 30TH at 8PM I'll be joined by Tyler Brownlow-Calkin.
Tyler Calkin (Tyler Brownlow-Calkin) is an interdisciplinary artist and educator. His multi-modal practice examines social constructions, habits, and anxieties through play and improvisation. Drawing particularly from safety and hygiene products and evolving digital interfaces, Calkin rearranges material culture into social catalysts. The resulting situations propose new models for interpersonal and inter-object relations.

As an educator Calkin heads the Digital Media program in the University of Nevada, Reno, where he teaches critical discourse and experimental practices in video, virtual and augmented reality, immersive and interactive media, performance, and game design.
