[Art-mfastudio] Theft at CAB

Good Afternoon All,


I recently received a report concerning the theft of a rather expensive piece of camera equipment from an MFA studio. Any theft is disturbing on many levels, and an investigation has begun to retrieve said item. We are currently gathering records of everyone who swiped into the building, as well as video surveillance footage.


If you know anything about this incident, please reach out to me with assured anonymity. If you are the perpetrator of this theft, I am extending a one-time offer for you to return the camera lens. I will leave a box outside my office door (Room 1406, next to the ‘fishbowl” in CAB) for you to leave the lens; if returned by 12:00pm on Friday, November 13th, no further action will be taken, and we will all move on.


If it is not returned by Friday before noon, this matter, all swipe card access data, and surveillance footage will be turned over to the FSU Police, and they will pursue it from there, with obviously much harsher consequences.


I trust this was a lapse in judgment and a moral error on the part of someone not considering the impact such a theft would have on a graduate student, and that you will act accordingly to right this wrong and move forward with a clean conscience.
