Dear Students;

At the risk of being obvious, this is the first global pandemic in 100 years.  Please remember we’re all figuring this out as we go and the University is committed to supporting our staff, students, and faculty/instructors to the best of their ability.  But….individual people’s health, and in some cases their lives, depend on everyone doing their part.  Please do your best to communicate with me if you are leaving or have left Tallahassee at any time from yesterday March 13th and over the next three weeks. If you have left or are intending to leave you may not return to the dorms  (if you are an undergraduate). No students are permitted to return to the CAB studios, FAB classrooms, workshops and labs, ATL nor KRB.

It is so important for you to take responsibility to avoid spreading this virus for which many people are losing their lives and leaving their families distraught.   Please, please follow the protocols that have been set out in so many communications:


  *   If you leave the Tallahassee area as discussed, you lose access and must self-isolate/quarantine for the 14 days. You might not be as worried about getting sick, there are others in the department that may be at a higher risk.  Be a good community partner.
  *   If you start feeling sick, run a fever, etc., immediately self-isolate and call your doctor or health care provider.
  *   Exercise safe distancing – at least 3’ away from others.
  *   Avoid large gatherings.
