Subject: New FSU Photo Lab Manager / Photo facility hours / Large Format Printing / LightBox

Dear Art Department,

It is with excitement that we introduce Jabari Townsend as the new Photo Lab Manager.  Jabari earned his BA from FSU in Studio Art, where he focused in Photography, and he has worked in the labs as a volunteer for over two years.   He will serve as our point of contact for all area facility inquiries.  Stop by the labs and say hello!

Some area news:

PHOTO DARKROOM AND DIGITAL LABS
The labs on the 3rd floor now have the hours listed on the documents attached.

LARGE FORMAT PRINTING SERVICE (FAB335, open by appt only)
The LFPS is returning to action beginning next Monday October 7th,  Appts are to be made at least 3 days in advance through the link on https://labs.art.fsu.edu/large-format-printing/
(We are still working out the kinks of our appt system, but it should be ready by the end of this week).

LIGHTBOX (Carnaghi Arts Building)
Lightbox is the department's lighting studio and is returning next week.  Reservation of the space is by appointment only.  Appts are to be made at least 3 days in advance through the link on https://labs.art.fsu.edu/photography/lightbox/   (We are still working out the kinks of our appt system, but it should be ready by the end of this week).
For those unfamiliar with LightBox, there will be a demo on October 256th at 1pm as an introduction to basic lighting equipment and workflows.  Mark your calendars!


Please remember that even while Jabari is now on board, that the entire Photo area is running two labs, a print service, and a lighting studio in a separate location on a very small staff.
We love our staff, many of whom are volunteers, and ask that you treat them like the awesome people that they are.
