It is a lovely drive from Tallahassee, and the historic downtown offers much to do and see. An excellent Saturday adventure can be had. There is no entry cost to view the exhibition. When traditional concepts of home evolve and items within have outlived their functionality but maintain their cultural significance, what does that say about where we live? Gardening also promotes the circulation of oxygen and minimizes the circulation of carbon dioxide, both of which help to create a cleaner environment. Growing your own produce even helps noise pollution, a sneaky way for pollution to reach humans! These plants actually absorb and deflect soundwaves, making planting an all-around winner. Fee > Date: Thu, Feb 23, 2023 at 12:45 PM Subject: 'All Over The Map' FSU Student-Led Exhibition Artist Talk, Reception, & Exhibition To: Hello Dear Friends and Colleagues, Please share with your students and friends! All are welcome to the free events celebrating the opening of All Over The Map on Thursday March 2. The exhibition will be on view in the WJB Gallery until April 4. During that time, the students will also host special programming with campus and Tallahassee communities. Feel free to email me if you want additional information. With gratitude, Carey [cid:1868070c381cb971f161] Each semester, a group of Florida State University's undergraduate museum studies students have the opportunity to develop an original exhibition. From March 3 through April 4 2023, they are pleased to present All Over The Map, a selection of artist Carolyn Ford?s tondi (ceramic sgraffiti disks) in the WJB Gallery. Carolyn Ford will provide an artist talk on Thursday, March 2 from 5:30pm-6:30pm in WJB G40 before the opening reception in WJB Gallery at 6:30pm. The artist talk and reception are free, and all are encouraged to attend. All Over The Map explores Ford?s creative wanderings, taking into special consideration how experiencing places far from home often brings into better focus the meaning or meanings of ?home.? Ceramic is one of the oldest art forms. The media and processes of ceramics have been used for artistic, aesthetic, and practical purposes that bring the creator in close contact with the world?s physical content and the viewer their surrounding context. Ford combines clay and sgraffito to, similarly, bring together her adventures at home and abroad. Carey E.
