2FA for FSU
This fall, FSU is expanding 2-factor authentication (2FA) for all FSU accounts. Soon, students, faculty and staff will use 2FA for all university systems accessed via the main FSU sign in page as well as FSU email and several other applications.
Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an extra layer of security designed to prevent unauthorized access to your account. It protects your data from hackers, phishing attempts and other digital threats by determining that you are who you say you are, and not just someone with a stolen password.
By adding this quick and easy step to your sign in process, you verify your identity twice—once with your password and once with your telephone, smartphone, mobile device or token—to gain access to your FSU account.
2FA will be released in waves by department, and you will receive an email five days before 2FA is activated for your account with more details. Visit the 2FA webpage to see when your department is scheduled<http://click.message.fsu.edu/?qs=d0f4eae1d73a4a663009479dd0e0a7e1810ea421ccaeb8f35efbb33257a3ff4f5fd61c958b18a26a84fcc91f8e2f4954e527f373446cc1d8>.
In the meantime, find out more about 2FA on the Information Technology Services (ITS) website and help spread the word about 2FA to your students and co-workers.
