Prior to the beginning of the clinical practicum semester, the Clinical Practicum Coordinator will notify the student of their clinical practicum placement and SLP Clinical Educator. The student will contact the SLP Clinical Educator to establish a clinical practicum schedule prior to the start of the semester. The schedule should allow the student to accrue a minimum of 50 hours of direct client contact during the semester. 2. Review training videos provided by the Clinical Practicum Coordinator. 3. Provide on-site clinical education that addresses the learning objectives for the course and is commensurate with ASHA's requirements for clinical practicum supervision (ASHA, 2020). 4. Verify observation hours and clinical clock hours in Calipso at the end of each week. 5. Initial and sign the student's Observation Experience Records and Clinical Practicum Experience Records at the end of each week. 6. Complete a minimum of 4 evaluations in Calipso during the semester; two completed before midterm grades are due and two completed before the last day of practicum. Evaluations should be labeled in Calipso as follows: 3 evaluations should be labeled as "midterm" evaluations and 1 evaluation should be labeled as a "final" evaluation. 7. Assist the student with planning therapy activities for therapy sessions as needed depending on the student's clinical skill level. 8. Provide the student with regular verbal and written feedback regarding clinical performance and professional dispositions. 9. Provide feedback on assignments for the clinical practicum course as needed. The SLP CE should NOT write or edit assignments but should provide constructive feedback to improve clinical writing skills. 10. Communicate regularly with the CC Clinical Educator regarding the student's performance in the therapy setting. 11. If the student is tardy or absent to clinical practicum (even if this is an excused absence), the tardy or absence (and reason) should be communicated with the Clinical Practicum Coordinator immediately. 12. Attend at least two virtual observations with the student and the CC Clinical Educator using Microsoft Teams. The CC Clinical Educator will use this platform to observe the student conducting therapy and the SLP Clinical Educator should be present during these observations. 13. Complete an Evaluation of Clinical Experience (Google form) to give the SLP Program feedback regarding your practicum experience with the student.
