<span style="color:#333333">here at FSU, I’m delighted to announce that </span><b><span style="color:#782F40">Professor Tisha Joseph Holmes</span></b><span style="color:#333333"> has joined our Program as a Courtesy Professor of Law. As a faculty member in
FSU’s Department of Urban and Regional Planning, her research focuses on promoting grassroots climate response capacity through community outreach and participatory engagement. </span>
<span style="color:#333333">Professor Holmes teaches climate change and community resilience, land use planning, and coastal planning</span>. S<span style="color:#333333">he will welcome
</span>our <span style="color:#333333">law students into her </span>L<span style="color:#333333">and
</span>U<span style="color:#333333">se </span>P<span style="color:#333333">lanning course next fall,
</span>which will <span style="color:#333333">emphas</span>ize<span style="color:#333333"> environmental justice.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;line-height:13.65pt"><span class="e2ma-style"><span style="font-size:10.5pt;font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">Professor Holmes
<span style="color:#333333">holds a Ph.D. in Urban Planning from UCLA, an MPA in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University, and a BA in Political Science and Environmental Studies from Williams College.
</span>She is </span></span><span style="font-size:10.5pt;font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif">the lead researcher in the Florida Building Resilience Against Climate Effects (BRACE) Program, which is working to improve public health sector efforts to respond to
climate variability by incorporating the best available science into routine public health practice. The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation awarded her a 2022 research grant for her work on fostering transformative policies at the intersection of climate, health
equity, and environmental change. <span class="e2ma-style">She is<span style="color:#333333">
</span>also <span style="color:#333333">a recipient of the FSU University Community Engaged Teaching Award.
