This workshop provides practical information about healthy eating on a budget for older adults with dementia. Family caregivers want to know how to prepare nutritious and appealing meals for their loved ones with dementia. However, they typically receive little
or no information about what types of food to buy, the best ways to prepare healthy meals, and how to stay on budget. Here’s your opportunity to learn all about it! Workshop presenters, Afaf Qasem and Laurie Osgood, leaders in nutrition and health promotion,
will cover key topics, such as strategies for meal planning, cooking nutritious and tasty meals for loved ones with dementia, and financial tips to help stretch the dollar. ACTS2 Coordinator, Tomeka Norton-Brown, will provide information about faith-based
skills training and support for dementia caregivers, as well as local, state, and national dementia care resources.
