Geroscience, Aging, and Behavioral Medicine<br>

As a field, geroscience seeks to understand shared biological mechanisms that make aging a primary risk factor for common chronic diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cancer, as well as chronic conditions like frailty and fatigue. Rate of
aging varies considerably across individuals and relates to behavioral and psychosocial factors, and environmental exposures. An understanding of factors that predict the pace of aging will permit the development of preemptive interventions aimed at increasing
health span and quality of life and decreasing health care costs.<br>
<br>
The overarching goal of this special issue is to advance understanding of biobehavioral or biosocial processes that slow or accelerate aging and impact age-related health and disease outcomes. Potential topics of the manuscripts submitted to this Special Issue
include:<o:p></o:p></p>

Behavioral, psychological, or social determinants of aging that underlie age-related biological processes (e.g., inflammation, cellular aging, epigenetic change, mitochondrial dysfunction, homeostatic dysregulation) across the lifespan<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1">
