Dear Colleagues,

Please see the message from Maria Koszalka, Federal Co-Chair of the FDP Federal Engagement Working Group, below. She is seeking engagement from faculty and administrators involved in FDP to support the NSF Proposal Modernization Effort. If you are interested in participating in this, please let me know - and you may also respond to the Research.gov business office as directed. It would be great to see FDP connected faculty involvement in this important initiative.

Sincerely,

Subject: Usability testers for NSF''s UOC Proposal Submission Modernization
Importance: High

Dear FDP Colleagues:

I hope this email finds you well I am writing to seek your assistance in identifying about 6-8 volunteers (either faculty or research administrators). Included below is additional information on the NSF activity.

The NSF Proposal Submission Modernization (PSM) user experience team is seeking PIs or any other roles (OAU, SPO, or AOR) who are involved with preparing proposals for usability testing. Specifically, sessions will focus on selecting where to apply for your proposal. Sessions are expected to begin in November and last 30-45 minutes. The typical session will be one-on-one, meaning one participant and one session moderator. During the session, the moderator will talk with the volunteer (faculty or administrator) about their current experience with Research.gov and then ask to perform some common tasks, and to provide feedback about their experience.

If you know of a faculty or administrative colleague would like to participate as an NSF volunteer tester, please respond to this email. A member of the user experience group will contact the volunteer with details and to schedule their testing time. I welcome your forwarding of this request to interested colleagues as well.

We know FDP members are eager to assist with NSF Research.gov efforts. We thank you in advance and look forward to hearing from you.

Please respond to the Research.gov Business Office at rgovbusinessoffice at nsf.gov<mailto:rgovbusinessoffice at nsf.gov>by no later than Friday, October 22, 2021.

Thanks,

Maria Koszalka
