Susan Vinson BLAST Co-President & Treasurer www.blastscience.weebly.com From: Carlos Villa Subject: FW: Climate Education PD Workshop for LCS Teachers Carlos, Anyone and everyone is welcome to join us! All teachers will receive a certificate of participation if they complete the reflection and lesson plan, so they can submit that to their district (and I'm happy to answer any questions that administrators may have). LCS teachers will just get it automatically, as I will submit a list of attendees to the Office of Professional Learning. As a matter of fact, if anyone in a neighboring district would like us to partner with them (either for a virtual workshop like this one, or an in-person event), we can work toward making that happen as well. My current position is a program manager for an educational nonprofit organization (I presented on our work at the October FAST Conference) focused on climate and environmental issues, and we are hosting a professional development workshop for Leon County teachers. It's offered at no cost and is approved by the school board for 5 PD hours, plus we'll be raffling off $50 Target gift cards for school supplies. I've attached the flyer and you can find the registration link here: https://cleoinstitute.org/event/teachers-climate-across-the-curriculum-workshop-2/ Teachers Climate Across the Curriculum Workshop ? The CLEO Institute Welcome K-12 teachers! CLEO?s 2021 professional development Climate Across the Curriculum Workshop for teachers is now open for registration, with new resources for elementary educators!Climate-Ready Classrooms will help K-12 teachers understand climate change, its impacts, and solutions to be able to incorporate climate into their curriculum. cleoinstitute.org You are more than welcome to reach out if you have any questions.
