<p><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">As you may be aware, multiple line item vetoes in Governor DeSantis' budget included eliminating ALL funding (over $29 million) for
<em><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Complete Florida Plus,</span></em> a program includes the Florida Academic Library Services Cooperative (FALSC), the Florida Virtual Campus and the Distance Learning and Student Services programs. This eliminates
the budget for the university and college online catalog, discovery platforms and many shared digital resources. This is an essential resource that provides crucial infrastructure for over 40 public colleges and university libraries statewide that serve over
1.3 million students, faculty, and staff. </span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">In addition, $2 million in funding for our multitype library cooperatives (MLC) – TBLC, SEFLIN, NEFLIN, PLAN and SWFLN – was eliminated. As you know, the MLCs provide many services that include
the bulk of training and development for all Florida library workers. </span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">FLA has responded with the letter herein to Governor DeSantis and the Florida Board of Governors on behalf of all libraries. I am asking you to please take a moment, now, and call or email Governor
DeSantis, the Board of Governors and your elected officials and express to them how important these services are for ALL Floridians. </span><o:p></o:p></p>
