<p><strong>General Submission Information</strong>: <span>The deadline for submitting proposals is 11:59pm on Tuesday, October 27, 2020</span>. <em>Proposals will not be accepted after this date.</em></p>
<p><strong>Conference </strong><strong>Theme: </strong><strong>Lead Inclusively</strong></p>
<p>FLA President Laura Spears has tasked its members “<em>to undo the implicit biases in our profession that harm BIPOC library workers and to focus on serving our communities. To Lead Inclusively, we must look critically at our library spaces, services and resources, to better meet the needs of Black, Indigenous and People of Color and those within the LGBTQ+ communities.</em>” When brainstorming content for your session, consider Laura’s call to action to <em>Lead Inclusively</em>, and make explicit the diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility (DEIA) characteristics in your work.</p>
<p><span>The conference planning committee encourages proposals that acknowledge the challenges posed this year by the COVID-19 pandemic and the growing awareness of the need to actively work toward racial justice within the library context. For instance, your proposal could describe your organization’s response to COVID-19 and also demonstrate how the DEIA principles guided your work.</span></p>
<p><span>Proposals will be reviewed and accepted based on inclusion of these elements.</span></p>
