We would appreciate it if you would send the message below out on the FCLCA listserv. Thanks so much for your help!- Youlanda Greetings, FCLCA Members! The time has come to elect new officers for the Florida College Learning Center Association. Service on the board provides a great opportunity to work with colleagues across the state to promote professional development and networking opportunities for professionals engaged in the important work of providing academic support at Florida's colleges and universities. Below is a list of the positions that will be open during this election cycle, along with a description of the responsibilities of each position: Vice-President 1. Assume the duties of the President in the President's absence; 2. Chair the Professional Development Committee which includes coordination of statewide annual meeting/conference; 3. Coordinate any other professional development activities; 4. Assume the office of President after serving one year as Vice-President. Length of Service: 3 years total Note: The Vice-President will serve for one year in the Vice-President's role. During the subsequent year, the Vice-President will assume the role of President, and during the third year on the board, the individual will assume the role of Immediate Past President. Treasurer 1. Receive, record, hold and disburse all monies of the Association at the direction of the Board of Directors; 2. Arrange for an annual compilation of the treasurer's accounts; 3. Present an annual statement of the Association's accounts to the membership; 4. Prepare the Annual Budget in conjunction with the board; 5. Arrange to have any tax forms or forms regarding the legal status of the Association properly prepared and submitted; and 6. Collect and account for monies related to the annual meetings and conferences. Length of Service: 2 years Secretary 1. Record the minutes of all business meetings of the membership and of the Board of Directors; 2. Prepare and submit to the membership any Bylaw revisions; 3. Notify members of all ratified changes in the Bylaws and maintain the accurate, most current copy of the same; 4. Ensure that all notices are duly given in accordance with the provisions of these Bylaws or as required by law; 5. Maintain and update the archives and records of the association; 6. Evaluate and identify new means of enhancing communications among the Board of Directors, NCLCA and FCLCA membership and educators working in the field of learning assistance. 7. Create, coordinate, and distribute all promotional material and official correspondence of the Association; 8. Serve on the Professional Development Committee to assist with the planning of the annual statewide meeting/conference; 9. Maintain and analyze a database of membership records; 10. Serve as registrar for statewide annual meeting; 11. Coordinate membership drives for retention and recruitment; 12. Receive and process membership dues and conference registration fees. Length of Service: 2 years Marketing and Publications Officer 1. Manage the FCLCA website; 2. Serve as a member of the Annual Conference Planning Committee; 3. Work in collaboration with FCLCA Board members and the general membership in the development of future publications such as online forums or an E-Newsletter. Length of Service: 2 years Professional Development Officer 1. Assist the Vice President in the coordination of the annual statewide conference 2. Coordinate the conference proposal and selection process from requests, through review, to final decision recommendations to the full Board 3. Coordinate the conference presenter process,including notification, post-session surveys, survey/assessment data, collecting presentations for the website and coordinating moderators; 4. Coordinate any other professional development activities. Length of Service: 2 years All board members must be active members of FCLCA. In consideration of the circumstances of the pandemic, if you were a member in 2019, you are still considered an active member of FCLCA.
