<div class="" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Over the last decade, the Federal landscape for advancing science, climate action, and environmental justice has changed drastically, with both tremendous national challenges and unprecedented opportunities to tackle
the climate crisis and address environmental inequities. Scientists and technical experts have critical roles to play in helping to assess and address these complex challenges and informing decision makers. In this colloquium, Dr. Gretchen Goldman will share
her work spanning Federal science policy, climate change and air pollution, and environmental justice through the lens of her career path which started at the nonprofit Union of Concerned Scientists and led to the White House Office of Science and Technology
Policy.</div>

<div class="" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Dr. Gretchen Goldman recently completed a term at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy as the Assistant Director for Environmental Science, Engineering, Policy, and Justice. Previously, she was the
research director for the Center for Science and Democracy at the Union of Concerned Scientists. For a decade, Dr. Goldman has led research and policy analysis at the nexus of science and policy on topics including federal scientific integrity, fossil energy
production, climate change, and environmental justice. Dr. Goldman has testified before Congress and sat on the board of the nonprofit 500 Women Scientists. Her words and voice have appeared in Science, Nature, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and
CNN, among other outlets. She holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in environmental engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a B.S. in atmospheric science from Cornell University. In 2022, Dr. Goldman was awarded the Cornell College of Agriculture and Life
Science's Young Alumni Achievement Award and named to Georgia Tech's 40 Under 40 list.</div>
