We have over 42,000 students and close to 20,000 faculty and staff. This means we have a wide range of individuals in different age groups, many of whom have different risk factors. While we are committed to having as many face-to-face classes as we can, doing so safely means following the guidelines set forth by the CDC, the Governor of Florida, Board of Governors, and local public health officials." I chose to attend FSU for many reasons. Primarily, it was to follow in the footsteps of my brother. He has also been a great role model for me and after seeing the amazing experience he had at FSU, I wanted to experience it for myself. Also, it was because of everything the school had to offer. Whether it was academics or socially, I was not sure about what path I wanted to take in college; however, the abundance of different organizations, clubs, sports, events, etc. allowed me to seek out all my options and discover my path along the way. Going into my freshman year of college, I decided to major in Sport Management. Sport has always been a focal point in my life, and I figured it could be career path as well. However, after my freshman year, I starting working as a camp counselor for a summer camp designed for children with special needs. After two weeks of working at the camp, I was on the phone with my academic advisor changing my major. It only took two weeks for me to see the love, purity, and affection the kids at my camp have to share each and everyday, and it made me realize that I want to work with a similar population for the rest of my life! After graduation my plans are still to be determined. I have looked into a variety of options and consider each of them everyday. Some of these options include teaching abroad, teaching in a juvenile detention center, and/or achieving my ABA Therapy certification. I may not know where I will be living or what exactly I will be doing, but I am sure of the population I want to work for and I am excited to see where my passion for these kiddos takes me!
